Donald Eichhorn

Donald was born June 27, 1921, in Elmore, the son of Cornelius & Lola (Rowe) Eichhorn.He was raised and educated in Elmore, where he was a 1940 graduate of Elmore Public High School. He has been a long standing member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Elmore. Donald was married to his high school sweetheart, Marian Ziegler on September 1, 1942 and celebrated their 62nd anniversary this year at St. Luke''s Lutheran Care Center. Donald farmed on the Eichhorn family farm south of Elmore, which has been in the family since the 1800''s. His ancestors were the first family to come to the area in covered wagons from out east to settle in Elmore. Among those early settlers was Don''s grandfather who settled and named Hebron Township in Northern Iowa. Donald and Marian enjoyed their grandchildren and traveling to Florida in the winter. He enjoyed his friends and relatives in the Elmore farming community where he was well known for his generous heart and kind spirit.He will be missed by his wife Marian Eichhorn of Elmore, son, Gary (& wife Gloria) Eichhorn of Downing, Missouri, daughter, Rosemary (& husband Richard) Dahl of Elmore, daughter, Gloria (& husband Dale) Luckow of Avon, MN, brother, Eldon (& wife Betty) Eichhorn of Bloomington, sister, Laura Egesdahl of Blue Earth, sister, Zella Egesdahl of Blue Earth, 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents and seven brothers and sisters.
