Elsie Wilke, age 98, of Blue Earth, died Wednesday, October 8, 2003, at St. Lukes Lutheran Care Center, Blue Earth. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2003, at 1:00 PM, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Blue Earth, with Rev. John Otte officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Blue Earth. Visitation time will be from noon until service time Saturday at the church. Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Blue Earth & Elmore is handling the arrangements.Elsie was born August 26, 1905, at Blue Earth Mn., the daughter of William D. & Agusta (Meyer) Wilke .She was a lifetime Blue Earth resident where she attended Blue Earth High School. Through the years she earned her certification as a Dental Assistant and worked for Dr. Baker from 1927 to 1965. She was active in the Minnesota State Dental Assistants Association where she held several offices. She had also been a member of the Business and Professional Women since 1935, being named that organizations'' Woman of Achievement in 1963. Elsie was a charter member of the Blue Earth American Legion Auxiliary in 1922, and has held many chairmanship positions. Since 1976 she served as a volunteer at the Blue Earth Hospital and was a longtime chairperson of the Red Cross Blood Mobile. In 1985 Elsie was nominated as the Faribault County Outstanding Senior Citizen. She was a lifetime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she was active in choir, missionary league, Martha Guild, Walther League and taught Sunday school. Elsie is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and great-great nieces & nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Marie Hasanzahl, Emma Wilke, Esther Boyer, & Lorena Kriewall and brothers: Louis Wilke, William Wilke, Arthur Wilke, Walter Wilke and Ernest Wilke.
