Paul Pugsley, age 89, of Elmore, died Friday, October 31, 2003, at St. Lukes Lutheran Care Center, Blue Earth. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2003, at 10:30 AM, at the Elmore United Methodist Church with Rev. Dorothy J. Bull officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Elmore. Visitation time will be 5:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday at the Elmore United Methodist Church, and one hour prior to services on Wednesday. Patton Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Blue Earth & Elmore is handling the arrangements.He was born February 14, 1914, in Pilot Grove Township, the son of LaVern and Gertrude (Shively) Pugsley.Paul attended Elmore Schools and later began farming. He was married to Marguerite J. Nutt on June 23, 1934 in Algona, Iowa. The couple farmed for 30 years in Pilot Grove Township of Faribault County. They retired to Elmore in the mid 1960''s. Paul had also driven school bus for the Elmore Schools for over 25 years, where he drove many long trips for the students. He also served over 12 years on the District 96 school board. Paul was a lifetime member of the Elmore United Methodist Church where he was recognized for his 74 hears of service to the church as an usher, many as head usher. He was also a member of the former Elmore Masonic Lodge and the Eastern Star, where he served as Worth Patron years ago. Paul enjoyed many trips throughtout the United States with family and friends over the years and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and gardening. Paul was also proud to be a member of the Residents Council at St. Luke''s Lutheran Care Center.Paul is survivied by his Son: Tom (& wife Terri)Pugsley of Bloomington, Indiana, Daughter: Connie (& husband Donald)Naumann of Buffalo Center, Iowa, 5 Grandchildren: Sheree Hoover, Shelley Coupanger, Shannan Musel, Kimberly Berger & Stacy Lind, 11 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Grandson.He was preceded in death by his parents, wife-Marguerite, sisters-Verna VanAlstine & Erna Walton, Brothers-Donald and Garold Pugsley.
