Laura R. "Cassem" Dobson was born September 16, 1917, at Terry, Montana, the daughter of Walter & Olive (Lyon) Dutton. Laura lived SW of Elmore and attended rural Watts School south of Elmore. She was married to Merle Cassem on May 29, 1935 in Elmore. She worked for Koehler Pharmacy for many years and later worked for Snyder Drug in Blue Earth. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Blue Earth where she was active in the Christian Womens Club. She had also been a foster parent for several children through the years. He husband, Merle, died in 1971 and Laura was later married to Wendall Dobson in April of 1977 in Blue Earth. Laura retired from the drug store at the age of 72 following 33 years of service. Wendall preceded her in death in 1993.She is survived by her Son, Marty & wife Deanna Cassem of Blue Earth, Son, Larry & wife Bonnie Cassem of Elk River, Mn, Son, Stephen & wife Lynn Cassem of Shakopee, Daughter, Dora & husband Ronald Fowler of Truman, Daughter, Donna & husband David Fischer of Bakersfield, California, Brother, Ralph & wife Ilean Dutton of Blue Earth, Brother, Robert & wife Marlys Dutton of Sarasota, Florida, Sister: Dorothy Hanson of Blue Earth, Sister, Marian Eastvold of Blue Earth, seventeen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her Parents, two husbands and two Sisters- Helen & Elsie.Memorial donations are suggested to Parker Oaks or the charity of the donor''s choice.
